What is vegan care?
First of all, we should not confuse “ cruelty-free ” skincare with “ vegan skincare .” As the name suggests, a product that is not tested on animals has not been applied to them to check for possible side effects.
A vegan treatment does not contain any ingredients of animal origin (and is obviously not tested on animals either). For example, a vegan treatment does not contain honey, donkey milk, or cochineal...
Among the most common alternatives, for example, animal keratin is replaced by vegetable keratin from wheat , or squalene from shark livers is replaced by phytosqualane, obtained from olive oil.
Veganism can be a lifestyle in its own right. In this case, ingredients of animal origin are excluded not only from cosmetic care, but also from food, clothing and even decoration.
By choosing to adorn our skin with vegan care, we are choosing to say no to the exploitation of animals and their suffering.
Finally, vegan products are always “ cruelty free ” (without animal suffering). However, the opposite is not always a reality.
What is the difference between organic and vegan?
Just because a product is organic doesn't mean it's vegan, and vice versa. An organic treatment contains more than 95% of its ingredients from organic farming, but it may contain ingredients of animal origin.
A vegan treatment does not contain any animal products, and is not tested on animals, but does not necessarily have organic certification.
